PacketBench#

PacketBench is a local-first desktop workbench for software projects and coding agents. It combines real terminal sessions, model-backed conversations, project memory, issues, git-host integration and supervised parallel work in one native application.

PacketBench runs on your computer. Project files stay in the project you open, application state stays in the PacketBench data directory, and API credentials are stored through the operating-system credential store. Remote work is performed over SSH against hosts you configure.

What you can do#

  • Open a local or remote project as a workspace.
  • Run shells and installed coding CLIs in PTY-backed terminal panes.
  • Start conversations using Anthropic, OpenAI, MiniMax, OpenRouter, Ollama or a compatible custom endpoint.
  • Review tool calls and file changes before accepting them.
  • Plan a Flight and launch isolated worktree attempts on local or SSH targets.
  • Connect GitHub, Gitea or Forgejo for issues and repository operations.
  • Add MCP servers and control which tools are available to a conversation.
  • Keep project notes and learned context with explicit scope and visibility.

PacketBench is not an operating-system sandbox. A terminal or approved agent tool runs with the authority of your user account. Review commands, project roots and remote targets before granting write access.
